Welcome to GoWarm – the home of the most successful area-based initiative.
Set up in 2007, to tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency in domestic properties, GoWarm has expanded from its original core base in the North East of England and now has operations in North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and across the East of England- including Norwich, Norfolk, Cambridge and Peterborough – and recently delivered specialist projects in Birmingham, Manchester and Luton.
Working with 23 Local Authorities, several RSLs and many of the major utilities, the GoWarm project has gone from strength to strength.
The six-step approach – marketing, assessing, data analysis, surveying, installing and benefits advice – adopted by GoWarm has seen the team assist more than 250,000 homes since the beginning of 2008 and pull in £1.5million in unclaimed benefits for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
Our experience in community engagement and door-step assessing has been used the length and breadth of the country to tackle fuel poverty, and more recently do support gas network extension projects and other projects which involved collecting data on the door step.
From April ’10 in addition to our core business, GoWarm will be able to provide free standard gas connections to people over 70, those in receipt of certain benefits, or those who spend more than 10% per cent of their annual income on heating their home or live in a designated area.
