The Process Print E-mail

At GoWarm we try to keep the process as short as possible - and expect to have completed any work within two months of first visiting you. This is how it all works:

  • A joint letter from your local council and GoWarm arrives
  • A GoWarm Assessor* will call within a few days and ask some questions about your home and circumstances
  • The answers you give will help us identify what free help you are entitled to
  • If you qualify, we will send a surveyor round to see what work can be done - and arrange for it to be carried out
  • The surveyor will also give you energy efficiency advice
  • An approved contractor will then visit you and carry out the work
  • If you have asked for a Benefits Check, an expert from the GoWarm team will get in touch with you and help you claim any benefits you may be entitled to.


* All our assessors are in GoWarm uniforms and carry identity cards. If someone claims they are from GoWarm and don't show you an identity card, do not speak to them and either call us or telephone the police.
